LifeBeat Friends, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! We are closing in on our fundraising efforts and need your help. Please join us in Union City on August 18 from 7:00-8:30 p.m., where we are sponsoring a benefit concert with Christian music artist Mark Schultz!

Proceeds from this event will help us purchase a mobile pregnancy unit that will travel to different areas in Lake and Obion Counties to physically bring free, confidential healthcare to women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.

Just like the darkness that ensues in a tunnel and prevents you from seeing clearly, so many women are walking in hopelessness, fear, and uncertainty and can’t see the path forward. Your ticket purchase and donation will help provide light to them and profoundly affect the avenue they ultimately decide to take. Although the effect of your donation is immeasurable, we can now place a monetary value on what you can give! That’s because we have a special donor who has agreed to match all donations, up to $50,000, made during the Call to Give at the concert!

It’s no coincidence that we have partnered with Save the Storks to purchase the mobile unit. Just as the stork carries the baby and needs to be saved, our concern is for the mother and her well-being. We want to meet these women at their crossroads to help them make an honorable decision that will leave a lasting imprint on their lives.

Our mobile unit will be run by Janice Wheatley, an RN at Crossroads Women’s Clinic, and it will be equipped with separate waiting and exam rooms to respect patient privacy. We will offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasound imaging, counseling services, and referrals, and all materials used will be medical grade.

The unit is designed to create a safe, clean environment with a luxury feel to make the women who come on board feel comfortable and valued. Other features include:

  • A 360-degree security camera
  • An exam bed
  • A TV in the waiting area
  • A TV with a sound bar in the exam room for viewing the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat
  • A fully plumbed bathroom

Once the unit is ready, the bus will be wrapped with Crossroads’ unique design.

More importantly than aesthetics, our medical personnel will work hard to provide medical care and counseling to women unsure about the pregnancy path they want to pursue. We are here to serve these women to the best of our ability and help them see their worth and the worth of the child they are carrying.

With the reversal of Roe vs. Wade, we expect the number of women who seek our services to increase significantly. So, let’s stand together as a support system for these women and help them see the special purpose God has called for on each of their lives.
